Spring wire

Spring wire is special purpose product, which made of a special wire with spring properties.

General characteristics

Spring wire has 4 classes — 3, 2A, 2, 1, of which 2A is always the most accurate. Among characteristics of product, it is worth noting such properties:

  • Section diameter 0.14−8 mm;
  • Ovality up to 50%;
  • Tear resistance from 1030−1230 with cross section of 8 mm, up to 2740−3090 N/mm2 with cross section of 14 mm 3 classes;
  • Withstands curl of 4−35 turns, etc.

Spring carbon wire should be made exclusively of carbon alloys, if without cold-hardening.

Application area

If we talk about use of spring wire, the first places in consumer products are engineering industry, furniture industry, sports equipment (sports equipment, metal expanders, etc.) and design. Designers use wire for decorative purposes, turning it into different objects.

In «world» of metal rolling, spring wire is supplied in form of coils.
